We are in the process of transitioning the Desktop Publishing class (DTP) to a freshman CMA course. Previously, DTP was a sophomore-only course. By 2012, we hope that the transition to the new schedule will be complete for all students. We invite freshmen, especially those interested in print publishing, to take DTP this year!

DTP is a required course for all CMA students, and students cannot take Yearbook or Newspaper without first taking DTP. Taking DTP your freshman year will allow you to take Yearbook or Newspaper your sophomore year instead of your junior year. Ask your counselors which courses can be put off until later years (hint: Oral Communication and Debate is one).

This is the second national recognition the yearbook has received for its 2008-2009 volume, “Slant.” The other national recognition came from Columbia Scholastic Press Association, which named the Crimson a Crown finalist. The Crimson is the only yearbook in Kentucky to make the finalist list in either contest and one of a small number in the nation to receive both. The final results of the Pacemaker competition are expected in April; the Crown contest results will be announced in March.
